This year is a jubilee for Michelin in Germany. “This volume was created at the turn of the century and will last at least as long.” This foreword to the 1st edition of the MICHELIN guide has become famous over the years. 100 years ago, the 1st edition of the Michelin Guide for Germany appeared. It included travel tips for Switzerland. Since then, the Guide reflects changes in gastronomy, dining and travel habits and in political developments in Germany and Europe. Today, the MICHELIN Guide selection lists the best hotels and restaurants in each category of comfort and price.
